On October 28th Mcphee Mixers released the first of 3 Conveyor trucks for Faheys Concrete in Cornwall, with the second and third due to follow at the turn of the year. We have built conveyors before at McPhee but their time consuming nature and sheer size have always made the build a long and awkward process. The Union and shared knowledge of the TVS Group, SB Components Bodies Department coupled with the oversight of Theam Conveyors, was able to assist in increasing efficiency, enhance the fit and finish of the machine and literally revolutionising the build process from start to finish.
This Mixer is a fitted to a DAF CF 450 chassis and has a standard 8m capacity drum but fitted with reverse rotation blades for offset centres of gravity. Once synergised with the 16.5m Aluminium THEAM conveyer system it creates an awesome feat of engineering that gives the user the ability to move concrete from the back of the truck to awkward or difficult access areas without the use of a costly boom pump or the sweat and time consumption of a wheelbarrow.
McPhee Sales Director, Lindsey Rudd said ‘This build has been a pleasure to see in process. McPhee are the specialists in mixer engineering and SB Components have worked with Hydraulic adaptations for years, so the partnership between the two on this project was obvious yet remarkable. We were able to not only reduce our build time on this machine by nearly two thirds, we also has the space and expertise to increase the finish and look of the truck. When you add in the assistance from Theam on this also, it’s easy to see why it looks so impressive.’
